📚 Reader's Corner: Books I Can’t Wait to Read in July
My Most Anticipated New Releases to add to your TBR
Hello, Protagonists!
It’s the end of the month, which means it’s time for a favorite ritual: previewing some of the upcoming book releases I’m excited about—the ones that have caught my eye, tugged at my curiosity, or whispered “You’ll love me.”
Note: I don’t receive affiliate commissions or payment for these mentions. I haven’t read these yet; these are genuine picks based on author love, intriguing premises, or early buzz that feels promising.
📖 July’s Most Anticipated New Releases
Grave Birds by Dana Elmendorf (July 1) - The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires meets Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil in this twisty, fresh take on a Southern gothic that follows a mysterious, charming bachelor as he makes his way into a small town, bringing a plague and the devil with him.
» I interviewed Dana when her last novel came out! Read the interview here.
The Satisfaction Cafe by Kathy Wang (July 1) - A novel about a Taiwanese woman’s journey to California. It’s about found family, the joy and loneliness that come with age, and how we can seek satisfaction at any stage of life.
Bitter Sweet by Hattie Williams (July 8) - A young book publicist falls for an older, legendary author. This is an intimate exploration of power, of vulnerability, of what it means to love another person and what it means to love yourself.
» I interviewed Hattie for our podcast! Episode in coming in July.
A Summer for the Books by Michelle Lindo-Rice (July 15) - Books, beaches, and main characters who are a writer and a bookstore owner. A dual‑timeline story about two former best friends finding their way back to each other.
Love Forms by Claire Adam (July 29) - A heart-stirring novel about a mother’s love, in all its forms, as a woman searches for the daughter she gave up for adoption, from the prize-winning author of Golden Child
In case you missed it, you can RSVP now (it’s free!) for my virtual launch party + origami workshop, where I’ll teach you to make 2 paper roses inspired by my book.
