I’ve read all Katherine Center and I have The Love Haters waiting in my Kindle. Im glad you liked it! How would you say it compares to other KC books? For reference, my favorites were The Bodyguard and How to Walk Away.
Latest favorite read - Home of the American circus, Alison Larkin
The writing is magic.
I listened to it, as Julia Whelan is the narrator (my favorite narrator) . Highly recommend that format.
I’m currently listening to “No Two Persons” by Erica Bauermeister
It’s such an interesting structure — the audio has a different narrator for each chapter. Worth checking out and I’m sure “reading with your eyes” would also be good, too.
Oh I'm looking forward to the episode with V.E. Schwab and her new book. My book rec: The ministry of time by Kaliane Bradley is one I recently enjoyed very much!
Yay, thank you for adding a book rec, Sophie! And yes… I can confirm that the episode with Victoria Schwab is going to be excellent! I’m working on editing it now!
Congratulations on Newsweek! Pretty cool. Alison Espach’s The Wedding People drew me in and I’m excited to read the new Fredrick Backman. Hoping to make it to your launch party, exciting times! 🩷
I recently finished reading the DallerGut Dream Department Store which I absolutely adored. I found the story whimsical and light while still having some nice heartfelt moments. Plus I love stories that give reasons why we dream.
OMG!!!!! Your book was in Newsweek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring out the streamers (or, in your case, the sweets!) This is so terrific I have goosebumps!!!! Congratulations, Evelyn this is big. 💙💙💙
I am a BIG believer in celebrations--and I hope you find a way to celebrate this--to memorialize it in whatever way works for you. I have an altar that has all sorts of wacky little bits of talismans and memorabilia--print out that Newsweek blurb and put it somewhere special. Make yourself a blue and yellow cupcake. Whatever! (My go to always involves sushi.)
I'm so thrilled for you, Evelyn. I preordered the book a 1000 years ago, and can't wait to get my copy!
So many goodies for June!! I can’t wait for TJR, Lisa Jewel, and V.E. Schwab. I’m going to preorder all three of them to help with launch week rankings.
And what a treat to interview them, I won’t miss those! Your newsletter is a treasure, Evelyn.
The book I’ve love the most these past few months is Shark Heart by Emily Habeck. So original and touching. Like nothing I’ve read in a long time, maybe ever.
Editing to add that I just learned that Molly Jong-Fast releases her memoir about her mother’s dementia in June. I won’t miss that one either!
I loved The Love Haters and am really into the Behind the Net hockey romance. I swear I smile the whole time I’m reading it!

Ok, thanks! She’s very addictive.
Oh! Huge congrats on Newsweek review. That’s wicked rad.

Adding HOME OF THE AMERICAN CIRCUS to my TBR, thank you!
I loved No Two Persons! Once you're done, if you're interested in a discussion about it, No Two Persons was our book club pick last December. Here is the link: https://www.creativeinspiredhappy.com/p/january-2025-book-club-for-writers
Ohhh! I will check it out. What a terrific book to discuss— such an interesting format
Also congrats on Newsweek!
I liked The Wedding People and The Story She Left Behind.
Oh I haven’t read The Story She Left Behind. Will have to look it up, thank you, Marcia!
Congrats!

I want to read the Fredrik Backman, too! I also loved The Wedding People (did you see that I interviewed Alison last year? https://www.creativeinspiredhappy.com/p/interview-alison-espach-the-wedding-people)
I didn’t. I’ll have to check it. Thank you for the link.
If you do have a chance to read the new Backman, pls lmk what you think. Anxious People is one of my all time faves.
Congrats on the Newsweek review!!

Thank you so much, Stanley!
Welp just added 4 of these books to my Everest-sized TBR list. I am DROOLING over Before Dorothy and The Poppy Fields.
I recently read The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by VE Schwab and cannot stop thinking about it so I can't wait to read her latest.
And congrats Evelyn on being in Newsweek! What an amazing review! Can't wait to read this one as well.
Thank you, Stacy! And I feel like my job is done since you added more books to your TBR. As the kids used to say, #sorrynotsorry 😉

THANK YOU, Diana!!! I have been walking around the last two days muttering over and over, OMG Newsweek. OMG Newsweek.

you are the BEST. Thank you for preordering an eon ago. It really means so much to me.
Each member of our family has something to celebrate this weekend, so we’re going to order in and my daughter is going to bake something delicious!
And I also love saving clippings and little things! It’s a nice reminder in an industry where there isn’t always much feedback.

I also loved Shark Heart! You’re right, it was so uniquely written.
Thank you for sharing about Molly Jong-Fast’s memoir!
Congratulations! 🥳 What an event!
Thank you, David!! It’s pretty mind blowing!
