Before I answer the questions you specifically asked - I wanted to share that I made all the bouquets for my daughter's wedding: four bridesmaids and the bride's bouquet, out of book pages dyed purple and made into origami roses. I love origami, though all I usually make are roses and dresses. Those book page roses were so fun to make... and I hid easter eggs of sort from the books I chose to use in making the bouquets. We even had an activity at her bridal shower of rose making - some of the guests caught on immediately, others took longer and some gave up. It was all good!
WOWWW that is so amazing, Julie! I love all the attention to detail you put into it. I bet the Easter eggs were such a delightful surprise on such a special day!
I loved this! Great things to remember when reaching out to influencers and what to include in boxes. The follower engagement is something many forget. A great quality or quantity reminder!
You are so creative Evelyn! It never occurred to me to send ARCs in a fun box! Wow, that's a lot to think about, but I won't have anything to send until the fall so I have time. Thank you, as always, for a peek behind the curtain 🥰❤️
I think I'm going to do mailers because they are cheaper and you can design them to be pretty cute, like with your book cover image on them and a fun quote! I'm glad this arrived for you early enough that you can noodle on your own PR campaign!
This is great advice! I didn't learn about this until AFTER I had published my first book, but I don't know if I would have had the guts to even do it the first time anyway. I've been reading up on this and even creating a list of influencers I love that I'd include on my wishlist for the next novel. I enjoy reading about authors different ways of engaging the influencers and your idea for origami is so original! I love how it ties in to the theme of your book.
Aww, thanks, Mica! It's so fun to get to come up with this stuff, and I'm glad you've been thinking about it, too. It's a no pressure thing, in that you don't HAVE to do it, but if it feels fun, then yay! you know?
My take is to do the things you enjoy and skip the parts you don't, when it comes to publicity and marketing. There are umpteen things we could be doing so we have to pick and choose anyway!
The hats!!! Brilliant...love this checklist of what TO and what NOT to do....Happy Friday, my friend!
Happy Friday to you! And yes, the hats!! What a fun, unexpected outcome of the workshop!
Look forward to trying to put this advice to use!
I hope it's helpful!

Wonderful, I’m so happy there were some helpful nuggets in there for you, Izzy!

Also, your voice sounds amazing in the voice over. The pacing is excellent
oh wow, thank you, Noor!!
This is the part of being a writer I'm not good at. Just the thought of it is giving me a migraine. I wouldn't even know where and who to start with.

The origami workshop sounds like it was fun! And those cute hats!
I'm going to do another one in August for our community, so maybe you can join!
