I LOVED this interview! Thank you for exposing me to Andrea, and for asking my question. When Andi said she "self-selects" what she reads, and therefore avoids reading things that (as a friend of mine says) do not constitute "good mental hygiene"--that makes so much sense. And this tendency to gravitate towards literary writing in thrillers (great character development, etc.) is likely why she and I are both big fans of Tana French. Thanks again to you both! D
I know I say this every time I listen to one of your podcasts, but this is my favorite one! 😂 💕 I love that she is also a thriller writer, like me. I have been struggling a bit to find more of them here on Substack. I appreciated Andrea’s thoughts on how the readers may influence the next writing project. This is something I’ve been wondering about for myself, so very helpful.
It will never get old for me that every episode is your favorite, Mica! It means I'm doing a good job for you, and how wonderful that Andi's interview was particularly helpful for you in your writing!
Thanks, Mica! I loved that question from Evelyn, because it can feel like something we're not "supposed" to talk about. Best wishes with your own writing!
I was so honored to chat with you! Thanks so much for having me on!
This was such a great conversation. Thank YOU for coming on the show, Andi!

This makes me so very very happy, Diana! I love hearing your takeaways every week!
"Good mental hygiene"—I love that phrase! Thanks so much for listening and for the great question!
It was truly my pleasure! Wishing you every success with your new book.

So glad you enjoyed it, David!
As I was listening, I thought Andrea Bartz said she wrote a book called "The Last Fairy Out" and I thought, wow, what a great title! 😂
lol! My first book was called "The Lost Night" and MANY people thought it was "knight."
